Recruitment for INIT II

You know that we are recruiting family members of people who have type 1 diabetes for the INIT II trial. But did you know that only 2% of family members will have a high enough risk of diabetes to enter the staging and clinical phases of the trial?

That means that in order to find 264 high-risk participants for the clinical trial, we will need to screen 13,200 first- and second-degree relatives of people with type 1 diabetes for autoantibodies...

Sound like a lot of people? Look at our 'iceberg' below to see how we are doing. When the tip of the iceberg is completely white, recruitment for INIT II will be complete!
